Anwilka Red Blend 2019

R480.00 inc. VAT
"The 2019 Anwilka is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon with 30% Syrah. The nose opens with subtle Syrah notes of red peppercorn and smoked meats before moving to dusty red and black fruit aromas. Full-bodied, layered and fresh, the palate reveals the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, with soft herbal essences, bitter black tea and delicate olive notes. Graphite and pencil shavings follow across the mid-palate. The wine continues to unwind over the long lingering, mineral-laced, food-friendly finish. This rested for 20 months in all French oak, 50% of which was new, before being bottled." - Anthony Mueller, The Wine Advocate

Château de Pibarnon Bandol Rosé Nuances 2019

R695.00 inc. VAT
Château de Pibarnon Bandol Rosé “Nuances” 2019, Light, brilliant orange. Expansive, mineral-accented blood orange, red currant and nectarine aromas are complemented by suggestions of succulent herbs, honey and lavender. Sappy, chewy and penetrating on the palate, offering densely packed red berry, pit fruit and floral flavors underscored by a vein of chalky minerality. Smoothly plays power off finesse and finishes minerally and extremely long, with repeating floral and pit fruit notes." - Josh Raynolds, Vinous

Château de Pibarnon Bandol Rouge 2019

R795.00 inc. VAT
Pibarnon's 2019 Bandol is marked by scents of vanilla, black cherries and plums. An assemblage of 90% Mourvèdre and 10% Grenache, it's ripe, even a touch jammy, in a powerful, modern style. Full-bodied, supple and rich, it finishes with a gentle coating of soft tannins. I suspect my rating is conservative, but in this year's blind-tasting, I actually preferred the less expensive Restanques de Pibarnon bottling. - Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate

Domaine Marquis d’Angerville Bourgogne Passetoutgrains 2019

R650.00 inc. VAT
Domaine Marquis d’Angerville Bourgogne Passetoutgrains 2019, Notes of Griotte cherries, red berries and spices introduce the 2019 Bourgogne Passetoutgrains, a medium-bodied wine built with a crunchy core of fruit, tangy acids and melting tannins. It's a fine example of the underrated genre. - William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
