Tasting Notes
"Syrah 71%; Grenache 17%; Carignan 8% and Cinsault 4%. Purple and red fruit, herbs, olives and white pepper from the whole-bunch fermentation with a clean focused palate. 100% whole-bunch fermented and matured in a combination of 3000-liter foudre, concrete and old French oak for 10 months before being bottled unfined and lightly filtered and then given a Further 18 months bottle maturation before release. The red since the first vintage back in 2008 has always been an experimental and ever-changing wine in a way where we added new vineyards and components every year if we found something better than before to bring balance. In this way we keep on improving and hopefully create a wine that truly speaks of the soils and spirit of the Swartland and this for me is probably the standout wine of our 2023’s for various reasons but no doubts our best effort and best Rall red to date." - Winemaker's notes
