Alain Voge Cornas Les Vieilles Fontaines 2020

R1,895.00 inc. VAT
"It's a more primordial effort, offering layers of black and blue fruits, rose petals, candied violets, bloody meat, and bouquet garni." - Jeb Dunnuck

Alain Voge Cornas Les Chailles 2021

R795.00 inc. VAT
"The younger vine cuvée from this great estate is the 2021 Cornas Les Chailles, which is from a mix of terroirs. Its deeper ruby hue is followed by a solid perfume of ripe blackberries, red plums, ground pepper, and flowery incense. This carries to a medium-bodied Cornas with bright acidity, a supple, layered mouthfeel, and just ripe tannins. It should be an outstanding wine and certainly does well in the vintage. " - Jeb Dunnuck

Domaine du Bel Air Bourgueil “les Vingt Lieux Dits” 2020

R375.00 inc. VAT
"This wine reveals an intense and deep ruby color. Scents of intense black fruits accompanied by slightly earthy notes delicately fill the senses. The mouth is full, frank and concentrated. No heaviness or sourness appears. Here everything is pure fruit, intense, fine and delicate. The sapid and persistent finish gives an incompressible desire to return with relish to this bewitching Bourgueil." - Winemaker's notes

Domaine du Bel Air Bourgueil “Jour de Soif” 2021

R325.00 inc. VAT
"This wine reveals a less pronounced purple color than the aging wines. Scents of red fruits accompanied by floral notes. The mouth is light on the fruit and without tannin, the finish has a salty side that invites you to refill." - Winemaker's notes

Château L’If Saint-Émilion 2019

R4,995.00 inc. VAT
"The 2019 L'If is the sort of wine I would like to spend hours with. There is just too much to it. At times the 2019 is opulent and quite racy, and yet in other moments its the underlying minerality and tension in the wine that are most evident. Black cherry, herb, incense, licorice and mocha gradually open over time. The 25% Cabernet Franc comes through nicely, both in the wine's aromatic profile and overall structure. L'If is a wine to buy and cellar for a decade or more. I loved it." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges “Les Cailles” Premier Cru 2019

R2,595.00 inc. VAT
Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges “Les Cailles” Premier Cru 2019 " A much spicier nose is cooler and more elegant with its beautifully pure and layered mix of both red and blue pinot fruit compote along with perfumed floral nuances. The vibrant and delineated medium-bodied flavors possess a sophisticated mouthfeel while displaying abundant mineral influence on the rich, sappy and focused finale that just goes on and on. This is a knockout and should age and improve effortlessly for the better part of two decades." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges “Les Pruliers” Premier Cru 2019

R1,850.01 inc. VAT
Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges "Les Pruliers" 2019, "Interestingly, this possess a similar fruit profile though with decidedly more earth and sauvage characters suffusing it. Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie La Joie du Palais 2020 Magnum

R1,195.00 inc. VAT
"Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie "Joie de Palais" 2020, This is exceptionally pretty, indeed blind it could easily pass for a wine of pure Pinot rather than 100% gamay with its cool and layered aromas of various red berries, spice and soft pepper wisps. There is even better refinement to the detailed and minerally if slightly less complex flavors that conclude in a dusty and mildly austere is solidly persistent finish. Lovely." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils Grand Cru “Clos de Vougeot” 2019

R5,695.00 inc. VAT
"This is the first wine to display prominent oak and it's not subtle with plenty of menthol character sitting atop the aromas of dark currant, plum and warm earth. There is fine cut and punch to the moderately concentrated flavors that possess solid size and weight, all wrapped in a lingering finish that is perhaps a bit less youthfully austere than it typically is. While not super-dense, I like the balance and in any event, it has the more than sufficient stuffing to reward extended cellaring." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie “Clos Vernay” 2020

R650.00 inc. VAT
“A more deeply pitched and slightly riper nose blends notes of poached plum, warm earth and more prominent pepper nuances. There is better density to the beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors thanks to the abundance of dry extract buffering the firm tannic spine shaping the youthfully austere, sappy and seriously long finale. This is excellent and absolutely worth your interest.”– Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie 2020

Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie 2020 "The vineyards are Belair and Cercillon. Clean mid purple. No great bouquet first up. Then it starts to builds, with peonies. A little more tension and structure compared to Chiroubles, nicely nuanced in pretty red fruit, good acid balance and persistence." - Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burghound

"An overtly peppery nose of various dark berries and earth nuances lead to supple, round and relatively refined middle weight flavors that possess an appealing texture thanks main to the fine-grained tannins shaping the moderately firm finale. R2,195.01 inc. VAT
Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges “Les Pruliers” Premier Cru 2019, "This is also quite firmly reduced and unreadable at present. Otherwise there is equally good energy and delineation to the slightly more refined though still dense and muscular medium-bodied flavors that possess just a bit more depth on the similar finish that is muscular, serious and youthfully austere if not especially rustic." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges “Clos des Porrets St-Georges” Premier Cru 2019

R1,475.00 inc. VAT
"The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Porrets-Saint-Georges 1er Cru has a tightly wound bouquet, iris and incense notes dominating at the moment, slightly at the expense of terroir expression. The harmonious palate is medium-bodied with fleshy red berry fruit and a touch of white pepper and clove, dovetailing into a piquant, lively finish. All it lacks is a bit of persistence on the aftertaste." - Neal Martin, Vinous

The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity thanks to the calcareous soils, and displays superb tension and focus toward the finish. A gorgeous, ethereal Aux Thorey." - Neal Martin, Vinous

Domaine du Pelican Arbois Poulsard 2018

R635.00 inc. VAT
"I like the purity and profile of the 2018 Arbois Poulsard, which, like the sample I tasted before, is quite expressive and agreeable, bright and lively, aromatic and open, quite elegant, with some tannins. It's not as funky as many examples of the grape can be. They picked a little early, and the wine is somewhat herbaceous (in a positive way) and only 11.5% alcohol." - Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate
