Domaine Alain Voge

Alain Voge is quite simply one of the famous and well respected names in Cornas.

Alain put the domaine on the map when he joined his father’s smallholding in the late 1950s. In his time overseeing the family domaine, Alain restored much of the land through replanting abandoned slopes and regenerating old-vine Syrah.

Alain retired in 2004 and handed over responsibility to Chapoutier alumnus Albéric Mazoyer, who transitioned the estate to biodynamic practices. Following Mazoyer’s retirement in October 2018, his righthand man since 2012, Lionel Fraisse, assumed control and has been at the helm since, honouring and continuing the ethos instilled by Alain.

Domaine Alain Voge spans more than 12 hectares (8 in Cornas and 4 in Saint-Péray), of both Syrah and Marsanne, all farmed organically (certified) and biodynamically. The wines are vinified traditionally, with the grapes largely de-stemmed and oak influence kept to a minimum in the reds.
