Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

Established in 2005 by highly regarded up and comers, Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, Domaine Bachelet-Monnot manages 10 hectares of vines in the communes of Maranges, Santenay and Puligny-Montrachet. The focus is on traditional techniques and terroir-focused winemaking.

Situated in Dezizes-lès-Maranges in the Côte de Beaune, brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet of Domaine Bachelet-Monnot preside over some highly coveted vineyards, including Saint-Aubin ‘’En Remilly’’, Puligny 1er Cru ‘’Folatières’’, Puligny 1er Cru ‘’Referts’’, Bâtard-Montrachet, and some top sites in Maranges, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. Since their first vintage in 2005, they have gone from strength to strength and the wines are now widely regarded as some of Burgundy’s most sought-after.

Marc and Alexandre adopt a very natural, hands-on approach in the vineyard and in the cellar. About 50% new oak is used for Grand Crus whilst much less is used for the rest of the wines. The red Maranges is produced using a small percentage of whole bunches. From Bourgogne to Bâtard, the wines of Domaine Bachelet-Monnot make for some of Burgundy’s most exciting wines from two of its most compelling young winemakers.
