Domaine Jean-Marc Millot

Domaine Jean-Marc Millot is one of Burgundy’s latest gems to surface. Situated in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Domaine has important holdings in the Côte de Nuits such as the premier cru “Les Suchots” in Vosne-Romanée and three grands crus vineyards: Echezeaux, Clos de Vougeot and Grands Echezeaux.

Jean-Marc Millot inherited much of his Domaine through his mother Née Gouroux of Flagey-Echezeaux and since 1992, he has been growing grapes and making estate-bottled wines. In 2014 his talented and ambitious daughter, Alix, brought with her new energy to the Domaine; pushing the quality level upwards while maintaining the refined style of the estate with a focus on freshness and an expression of terroir.

The Domaine practices organic farming and in the cellar, applies a light hand with low extraction and a moderate use of new oak. They adopt 12 to 16 months of élevage in icy cold cellars, which allows for slow fermentation. The wines are full, rich and sturdy.

We were referred to the Domaine by Jean-Marie Fourrier and it has been on the lips of many a Burgundy commentator as one of the most exciting finds in Burgundy and deserved of a place in most collector’s cellars. We therefore had to add their wines to our portfolio.
