Matthias is a young winegrower who cut his teeth working alongside Alphonse Mellot (junior) and then made the call to go out on his own, with just 5 hectares of about 50-year-old vines. He currently produces two cuvées, ‘’Le Paradis’’ from chalky, limestone soil, and ‘’Les Herses’’ from predominantly flint soils. Matthias cultivates his vines biodynamically, and vinifies the wines in stainless steel vats, and ages them in barrels.

Domaine Matthias Planchon
A Sancerre producer who came very highly recommended by Paris wine merchant and friend of Charlotte Dagueneau’s, Philippe Noyé, and once we tasted the wines, we understood what all the fuss was about.
The name Matthias Planchon is one to take note of and he is on the up and in a big way.
