Estate Argyros

Great Domaines’ first Greek producer!

Founded in 1903 and currently under the fourth-generation ownership of Matthaios Argyros, Estate Argyros is the most significant holder of estate vineyards on the island of Santorini at 120 hectares of organically farmed vines. The majority of these vines average an impressive 70 years of age, and a select few of their vineyards count their age in centuries, plural, and are considered some of the island’s greatest treasures.

The flagship wine from Argyros is the 100% Assyrtiko, supported in the range by the more everyday drinking white blend labelled as ‘’Atlantis’’. The estate really began to attract wider international attention with its very special line-up of micro-production, old-vine cuvées, including both the ‘’Monsignori’’ and ‘’Evdemon’’ and Argyros’ version of a late-harvest in the ‘’Nykteri’’.

Argyros’ range of Vinsanto cuvées is also a very special part of the estate’s offering, which was first established by Matthaios’ father Yiannis in the 1970s and 1980s.
