"Mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with 24% Syrah, the 2020 Anwilka is bright in the glass with a dark red fruit profile, showing better integration than the previous vintage. The wine bursts out of the glass with aromas of dusty flowers, a fine rocky core and succulent fruit essences. Full-bodied, the palate is firm, fresh and tannic with layers of complexity that give way to a fine, phenolic grip. Notes of graphite linger over the food-friendly finish. For me, this vintage marks the first year the Syrah and Cabernet synergize to lift the fruit profile to a fresher and more vibrant expression. Nicely done!" - Anthony Mueller, The Wine Advocate
