The 1988 Phelan-Segur is lighter than the 1989, but is still a textbook example of a St.-Estephe. A toasty, black currant-scented bouquet is followed by a medium-bodied wine with fine balance and length. It has less aging potential than the 1989. - The Wine Advocate
