"This fourth release of the Syrah now exclusively made from one of the schist vineyards used for the Ava, was picked early, fermented naturally with 100% whole bunches and aged only in concrete to preserve the primary fruit and crunchy tannins of Syrah grown on these soils. Even more so than 2023 this wine has a beautiful gripping structure, savoury palate and very expressive nose of incense, fynbos, meat and dark spices. The goal was always to produce a well-priced, age-worthy expression of Syrah in its rawest form and this really is the best description I can give for the 2024. Other than the 2022 and 2023, this will benefit 2-3 years in bottle before you start drinking." - Winemaker's notes
